3,300 invites on the very first FSWP draw
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited 3,300 people to apply for permanent residence in Canada as a result of the most recent Express Entry draw, which was held on February 2. For the first time in the system's history, this draw only invited qualified applicants who had applied to the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP). Only applicants who submitted an application to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were chosen in the Express Entry draw that IRCC held the day before yesterday. Another deviation from the standard all-program draws, which normally welcome applicants from any of the three Express Entry programs—the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. In around two weeks, IRCC will hold a new draw for applicants who are still in the Express Entry candidate pool.
